WorldSkills Barbados Juniors Future Skills Camp

Overview:
To expand science education opportunities for young people in the Caribbean region and foster early interest in science, technology, and innovation among primary school students, the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Council Barbados organizes the WorldSkills Barbados Juniors Future Skills Camp (Optoelectronic Technology Filed) every year.

The program will provide an immersive, hands-on learning experience in optoelectronic science for local and neighboring primary school students. The camp adopts diverse and engaging teaching formats, including thematic science lectures, hands-on workshops, group creative projects, and a final showcase and sharing session.

Camp Curriculum Outline:
>> Development of Optoelectronic Technology
>> Introduction to the Optoelectronic Technology Skill Competition in the WorldSkills Competition
>> Fundamentals and applications of Optoelectronic Technology
>> Career pathways and industry applications related to four hands-on projects
