India–China Partnership in Skills: Delegation from CGU Visits VCOM
Release time:2025-09-02

On June 17, 2025, a delegation from Design Praxis India and C. V. Raman Global University (CGU), Bhubaneswar, including Shivendu Jauhari, Kamal Palei, and Upendra Sahoo, visited VCOM Education Headquarters for in-depth exchanges on vocational education cooperation in the field of Information Network Cabling (now named as ICT Network Infrastructure).

During the discussions, both sides of us reached a consensus on exploring the establishment of a comprehensive Training Base at CGU under the framework of the Global Training Center, aiming to strengthen India’s talent pipeline in line with international skills standards. The initiative would start with a focus on Information Network Cabling training and competitions, while gradually expanding into other skills fields to create a broader platform for talent cultivation. The Training Base will initially concentrate on Information Network Cabling skill development and competitions, before expanding into additional vocational areas to foster comprehensive technical education, ensuring that the outcomes directly serve the needs of India’s ICT sector.

The representatives also visited VCOM’s training facilities, where they observed multi-mode training methods and advanced teaching equipment. This provided valuable references for how future training bases in India can be designed and operated to achieve practical, industry-relevant outcomes.

Discussions further covered equipment procurement models and curriculum alignment, with a shared commitment to ensuring that vocational training leads directly to skills that match enterprise needs. Both VCOM and CGU agreed that using WorldSkills Occupational Standards (WSOS) as benchmarks will be key to raising the quality and recognition of training programs.

Looking ahead, the collaboration will extend to customized training courses, faculty upskilling, and student competitions, building a platform that integrates education with industry. The joint efforts are expected to produce a new generation of skilled professionals, contributing to India’s ICT workforce development while also deepening China–India cooperation in vocational education.

This visit highlights VCOM Education’s role in promoting international skills exchange and providing practical solutions for talent cultivation. By linking proven Chinese training practices with local needs in India, VCOM aims to support sustainable vocational ecosystems and strengthen mutual learning between the two countries.
