From May 8th to 10th, 2024, the Strategic Development Committee Opt-in Meeting of WorldSkills Competition (WSC) was held in Shanghai, China. Over 60 representatives, including members of the Board, the International Secretariat, and global partners of WorldSkills International (WSI), gathered to discuss the future development direction of the WorldSkills Competition, the establishment of global skills standards, and the profound impact of skills on the global economy and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This meeting marked a significant event for the WorldSkills Strategic Development Committee, aiming to formulate a clear strategic blueprint for skills development over the next decade. During the meeting, representatives from various countries actively engaged in discussions and exchanged ideas. The meeting encouraged participants to review our strategies to ensure we are prepared to meet the challenges facing economies, industries, and governments in the coming decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our CEO, Cathy Wang, and Jennifer Huang, the Secretary-General of the Global Training Center, were invited to attend this meeting and delivered important speeches. In her speech, Cathy Wang stated, \u201cNot only are governments highly focused on cultivating skilled talent, but we enterprises are also actively involved, contributing to vocational education and skills training.\u201d She emphasized that enterprises play a crucial role in the cultivation of skilled talent, and through close collaboration between enterprises and educational institutions, industry needs can be better met, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of skilled workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
